The mission of the ICT Faculty is to provide competence-based technical education & training and carry out research and consultancy in information and communication technology for socio-economic development.
The vision of the Faculty of ICT is to be a center of excellent training, research and consultancy in information and communication technology in Africa by 2030.
Information and Communication Technology students gain the knowledge and skills needed to effectively apply, use and manage technology when solving problems specifically related to information and communication.
ICT is an emerging field, offering you unlimited career opportunities.
The Faculty Scientific Council is the highest decision-making organ of the faculty. It is charged with general policy making and evaluation as far as the faculty is concerned. To this effect, it shall adopt the faculty’s plan of action each academic year, the budget of the faculty, the designation of supervisors to students, course allocation to faulty members, restructuring of faculty units and administration, as well as deliberation of exam results at the faculty level. Membership is opened to permanent teaching staff who hold a Doctorate qualification
The advisory board of the faculty is an amalgamation of all official associates of the faculty. This ranges from all teaching staff of the faculty to all partners as well as former administrators and lecturers of the faculty. The principal role of the advisory board as its appellation indicates is to offer succent counsel to the faculty on all academic and related matters. Members of the board may be consulted individually or collectively for an opinion on important matters of the faculty. Board members equally partake in certain activities of the faculty such as review of action plans, partaking in defence juries as well as the review of theses and dissertations.
The faculty examination board as decided by the Faculty Scientific Council is charged with the preparing and the running of examination operations in the faculty. This this light, the examination board through its coordinator ensures that examination questions and their marking guards are submitted in the prescribed format and within the specified timeframe, it ensures that submitted questions are made ready for vetting at the faculty level (if vetting is done by the faculty scientific council and not the examination board), and it ensures that the questions submitted to the directorate of quality assurance for control and assembly in view of exams. Members into the board are designated by the faculty scientific council and must be teaching staff of the faculty.
The faculty disciplinary board is a functional organ within the faculty that ensures quality assurance in examination proceedings. It is charged of having hearings on all related malpractices perpetrated by students in school related activities. This concerns but not limited to hearings on; all examination malpractices involving students and student misconduct in school related activities. In a nutshell, the disciplinary board is charged with all disciplinary proceedings involving students. Membership into the board is at the discretion of the faculty scientific council.
Following these new structures, faculty members were admitted into various structures depending on their administrative position and experience, qualification, teaching and research experience as well as their commitment to the ideals of the ICT University.
