U.S Government encourages African diaspora to give back to their countries of origin through education

The US Government strongly encourages members of the African diaspora to give back to their countries of origin through education and other economic development activities.

The US Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Michael Stephen Hoza, said the following about ICT University (at ICT-U’s 2016 graduation ceremony):
“Though the founder of this institute, Professor Victor Mbarika, received his tenure and could’ve easily stayed in the U.S. as a distinguished professor, he chose to RETURN to Cameroon and give back to the youth, like you, here, today, through education. The U.S. Embassy supports critical contributions of the diaspora, especially as they pertain to preparing the next future of leaders in Cameroon. “US Embassy Yaounde-Cameroon Facebook posting on July 22, 2016.
