Dina Epale is a bilingual (English and French) public affairs and government relations professional with over 15 years’ experience in the field. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Cape Breton University (formerly University College of Cape Breton) and an M.A. in International Relations from McMaster University, both in Canada.
He is currently Senior Advisor, Advocacy and Public Affairs with the Canadian Association of Professional Employees – Canada’s third largest federal public sector union. In this capacity, he works directly with the association’s president’s office to create, foster, and maintain strategic relationships with parliamentarians, senior federal government officials and key stakeholders to influence policy and enhance members’ experiences.
In July 2023, Dina was a Keynote Speaker during the 7th Commencement ceremonies of the ICT University, presenting on “Soft Skills Development and Employability in the Digital Economy.” A big believer in supporting students and in giving back, in 2022 he set up the Epale Family Memorial Award (EFMA) in honour and memory of his parents and brother who all shared a passion for education. During their lives, they played integral roles in motivating others to pursue their dreams. The EFMA is established as a proud tribute to the Epale family’s African and Caribbean heritage.
Throughout his career, he has traveled extensively internationally in support of Canadian parliamentary associations and committees with a focus on Africa and is also a dedicated community leader in his hometown. In 2020 he co-chaired Africa Day on the Hill, held in the parliament of Canada to showcase African countries.
Dina is married with two children and resides in Ottawa, Canada. He is proudly Cameroonian by birth, Jamaican by heritage and Canadian by choice.
