Professor Muhammad Akaro Mainoma is Professor of Accounting & Finance and the Immediate Past Vice Chancellor, Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Former Commissioner for Finance, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He is currently a Fellow and the President of the Association of National Accountants (ANAN), A Fellow and Governing Council Members of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and a Fellow and the Chairman of Council of the Association of Forensic Accounting Researchers (AFAR).

Professor Mainoma is the first indigenous Professor of Accounting and Finance, Nasarawa State. Holds several Gardin… titles in Nasarawa State and other titles beyond. He has paid his dues to traditional institutions in the North and South. His is an accomplished teacher, Professor of Professors. An accomplished Vice-Chancellor of the fastest growing University in Nigeria. A university of first choice. A resource (financial and human) mobilizer and optimizer.

Professor Mainoma has produced 50 PhDs and 75 M.Sc. graduates in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration, with some of them on professorial cadre and serving Vice-Chancellors to date. He holds fellowship of ANAN, CITN, IAAER, IIFIP (USA), F3EP (UK), CPA (Ireland), AFAR, and several others.
