Bachelor

Banking and Finance

A sound and competitive banking and financial programme, taught with modern learning tools and practical field exposure to satisfy the expectations of contemporary financial markets — producing graduates majoring in Banking and Finance, with a special minor option in Microfinance.

Pathways through the degree

The department offers a major, a minor, an honours track and a compulsory industrial attachment.

Major in Banking and Finance

Complete all required courses and obtain a minimum grade point average of 2.0.

Minor option

Cover at least 75% of the compulsory courses for the degree, plus at least 25% of the compulsory courses in the minor department.

Honours programme

A CGPA of 3.20 or higher at the end of the third year, plus an independent research project supervised by a faculty member.

Industrial attachment

Eight weeks at the end of the second semester of the second year — assessed on job performance and a comprehensive report.

Admission and graduation requirements

Admission requires General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level passes in at least two subjects in the Arts or Sciences, in addition to University requirements. To be awarded the degree, students must meet the graduation requirements set out in the General Academic Regulations, successfully complete all required courses, and obtain a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
